A road race will affect traffic in Pembroke on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Works said.

The Bermuda Union of Teachers’ 1.6K and 5K Run and Walk will start and end at West Pembroke Primary School.

The event will start at 9am and is expected to finish by 11am.

Competitors in the 1.6K will exit left from the school onto North Shore Road, proceed west to the turnaround point, and return east to the finish line at the school.

Participants in the 5K will also proceed west on North Shore Road, then turn left onto St John's Road.

The route takes a right turn onto Pitts Bay Road and left onto Serpentine Road, continuing to Woodlands Road.

Runners will then turn right onto Euclid Avenue and left onto St John's Road.

After turning right onto Berkeley Road, the participants will turn left onto North Shore Road and head west to the finish line at the school.

Motorists were urged to use caution and follow instructions from race marshals directing traffic. The ministry apologised for any inconvenience.

Questions can be directed to race representatives Jonathan Tankard on 595-0056, Denise Booth on 335-7042 or Crenstant Williams on 337-8693.
