Men charged with drug and equipment offences

A man has been accused of bringing drugs with a street value of at least $1 million into Bermuda.

Manai Roberts, 35, was charged with importing cannabis, diamorphine — otherwise known as heroin — and fentanyl when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.

He and Judah Roberts, 29, were also charged with having cannabis resin, as well as two grinders and a digital scale intended for the use of controlled drugs.

The men, from Smith’s, allegedly committed the offences on November 14, 2022.

Sergio Robinson-Woolridge, 34, from Paget, was charged today with having a separate grinder and scale intended for the use of controlled drugs in Pembroke, also on November 14, 2022.

None of the men was required to enter pleas because the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos adjourned the case to the March arraignment session and released the three on bail.

Judah Roberts and Mr Robinson-Woolridge were each granted bail at $2,000.

Manai Roberts was released on $25,000 bail with a surety and ordered to attend Hamilton Police Station twice a week and surrender all travel documents.
