About 100 people are expected to register today to run as candidates in the upcoming General Election.

Across the island, three political parties — the Progressive Labour Party, the One Bermuda Alliance and the Free Democratic Movement — are putting up contenders, while a number of others will stand as independents.

Candidate roll-outs over the past three weeks have included some shake-ups and surprises, including former party members running instead as independents, switches in candidates, retirements, and the return of high-profile names to the political arena.

We’ll run a live blog on this page with all the latest activity from MSA.
