Terry-Lynn Paynter latest legend honoured on sports cards
Terry-Lynn Paynter is the latest Bermudian to be honoured as a “legend” in the latest set of sports cards released by the Bermuda Police Service.
Paynter was the first captain of the women’s cricket team in Bermuda and also represented her country in track and field, football and softball. She competed at the women's world championships in 1994 and the Central American and Caribbean Games.
Alongside Paynter in the latest batch of cards to be unveiled is “Mr Cup Match” Janeiro Tucker, running star Jay Donawa, cyclist Dominique Mayho, six-times winner of the Sinclair Packwood Memorial Race, squash player Micah Franklin and rugby player Tashon De Silva.
The latest release brings the number of cards for children to collect to 30, with the final sets scheduled to be distributed in March, April and May.
Children are encouraged to actively seek out police officers on patrol throughout the island for an opportunity to receive one of the latest collectible sports cards.
Alternatively, students may also collect one of the 30 inspiring sports cards released to date at any police station (Hamilton, Somerset and Southside). However, some cards may no longer be available.
