Trio deny stealing from Alexandrina Lodge
Three men have been accused of stealing more than $50,000 in total from an island lodge.
Ryan Ray, 28, Kai-Ronte Durham, 29, and Che Augustus, 34, denied a total of 18 offences between them when they appeared in Magistrates’ Court.
Mr Ray, from Warwick, and Mr Augustus, from Devonshire, allegedly stole $10,000 each from the Alexandrina Lodge on Court Street and Mr Durham, from Sandys, was charged with stealing an additional $30,800 from the organisation.
Across a number of allegations, the men also denied converting the funds into cash and transferring it from the Bermuda Credit Union to HSBC accounts.
The offences allegedly occurred between October and November 2023.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos adjourned the case to March 3 and released the men on $10,000 bail each until that time.
Ms Sofianos also ordered that the men report to Hamilton Police Station every Monday and Friday and surrender their travel documents.
