BermudAir opens new East Coast gateways
BermudAir will soon have connections to 13 North American gateway cities, substantially improving outward opportunities for Bermuda travellers and improving airlift to the island for the benefit of business and tourism.
Direct flights between Bermuda and Montreal take flight this summer as BermudAir continues to grow it’s list of destinations.
The Bermuda-based airline announced this week that it would launch twice a week nonstop service to Montreal-Trudeau International Airport on June 12.
BermudAir also announced that it would offer flights to Providence, Rhode Island and Richmond, Virginia, with those flights to come on board on May 8 on June 7 respectively
Adam Scott, founder and CEO of BermudAir, said: “Expanding our network with these new routes underscores our commitment to strengthening Bermuda’s global connectivity.
“By adding direct service to these key cities, we’re not only making travel more accessible and convenient, but we’re also positioning BermudAir to serve our customers with even greater convenience, reliability and flexibility.”
The airline previously announced it would expand its fleet with two Embraer E190 aircraft, which are set to enter service in Spring 2025, allowing the airline to bolster service and operate with a spare aircraft.
Mr Scott said: “We are proud to expand our Canadian footprint with the introduction of nonstop flights from Montreal.
“This new route not only strengthens our commitment to providing outstanding travel experiences but also offers Quebecers an effortless gateway to reach Bermuda's unmatched hospitality, rich heritage and breathtaking natural beauty.
“Our goal is to make Bermuda more accessible, fostering closer ties between our communities while offering an exceptional travel experience.”
The announcement was also applauded by Karl Brochu, vice-president of airport operations and air services development at Aéroports de Montreal.
Mr Brochu said: “ADM Aéroports de Montreal is delighted to welcome BermudAir to YUL Montreal-Trudeau International Airport for the very first time.
“For our passengers, this is an additional gateway to the pink sandy beaches, historic villas and pale blue sea of Bermuda.
“For an international airport like ours, this is great news, especially as this route offers arrivals and departures at less busy times of the day, which is perfectly in line with ADM's air service development initiatives.”
The new Montreal service will bolster BermudAir service to Canada, which already includes three weekly flights to Toronto and weekly flights to Halifax.
The airline also offers flights to Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Westchester, Baltimore and Orlando, with new flights to Charleston, Raleigh-Durham and Connecticut set to come online in April.
BermudAir has also received approval under a civil aviation licence exemption order to expand into Hamilton, Ontario and Norfolk, Virginia.
