Bermuda College hosts science week
Residents have been invited to participate in a series of engaging events as the Bermuda College focuses on science next week.
The three-day event coincides with the institution’s partnership with Roche Bermuda, a relationship that goes back to 1994.
Science week activities include an outreach to schools, hands-on experiments and interactive demonstrations for junior students.
There will also be advanced scientific sessions for senior high school and Bermuda College students and a free lecture by Melissa Butler under the title Mind the Data Gap.
During the week of events, Roche Bermuda will sponsor a lunch to celebrate the “Roche science student of the year” for outstanding achievement.
Roche Bermuda’s partnership with the college includes the creation of the on-campus science labs at the institution and sponsorship of science week.
Ali Arouzi, the interim vice-president of academic affairs at the Bermuda College, said: “Our partnership with Roche Bermuda has been transformative, offering invaluable opportunities to our students and fostering a culture of scientific inquiry on campus.”
LaRondie Harrell, the president of Roche Bermuda, said: “We are delighted to support Bermuda College in cultivating the next generation of scientists.
“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to education and innovation.”
The two entities said they remained dedicated to empowering students and driving scientific advancement in Bermuda as they plan to collaborate in the years ahead.
