The Human Rights Tribunal has welcomed five new members to its panel.

A statement from the Selection and Appointment Committee for Human Rights said Kelly Hunt, Amy Murray, Samira Saya, Kate Fenwick and Sarita Ebbin have each been appointed to the tribunal for two years.

They join chairwoman Christina Herrero and deputy chairman Stephen White, as well as Elaine Butterfield, Christopher Cunningham, Fiona Bada, Sita Ingram, Dawn Eversley, Claire van Overdijk, LeVince Roberts and Casey Schuler on the body, which adjudicates human rights complaints.

Seth Darrell, head of the SAC, explained: “Each appointee possesses a demonstrable record of excellence, a keen jurisprudential insight and an unrelenting dedication to ensuring the application of the law.

“Their stewardship will indubitably fortify the tribunal’s mandate to uphold the fundamental tenets of justice, ensuring that each case before it is adjudicated with the highest degree of impartiality and perspicacity.”
