Family Centre received a $7,200 boost from the Hamilton Princess this week when the hotel donated a share of its proceeds from its successful Tea With Santa events.

A spokeswoman for the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club said: “During the children’s holiday tea service, $8 of each afternoon tea purchased was donated to the Family Centre.

“The fundraiser collected $3,599, and was matched by Hamilton Princess hotel’s owners, the Green family. The total donation was $7,200.

“In previous years, teddy bears and toys were donated for families served by the charity, until the hotel made a switch in the last couple of years to financial donations.”

Family Centre is dedicated to improving the lives of families in Bermuda.

The website of the charity said that it provides “innovative, free-of-charge mental health counselling services for children, teens and their families, community outreach programmes, and advocacy initiatives”.
