MultiStrat, the specialist underwriter and reinsurance investment platform, has hired Maryam Abdullah as head of pricing.

Based in Bermuda, Ms Abdullah will support MultiStrat’s ambitious growth plans for 2025, the company said.

Ms Abdullah, who has worked with the company since 2022 as a consultant, now joins MultiStrat on a full-time basis.

She is a fully qualified actuary with more than 20 years’ actuarial experience and ten years’ experience working as a broker in the capital markets and insurance and reinsurance sectors.

The company said Ms Abdullah specialised in product development for structured and capital-relief transactions.

Before joining MultiStrat, Ms Abdullah worked as a consultant at Greenlight Re, RenaissanceRe, the African Risk Capacity and previously held the head of capital position at Capsicum Re.

“Her extensive experience across insurance, reinsurance and capital markets will further strengthen our underwriting expertise and help the company forge ahead with its ambitious growth strategy.”

MultiStrat is a specialty reinsurance and capital advisory company that offers risk protection and capacity for captives, managing general agents, insurers, reinsurers, public entities, and run-off specialists.

The company said it continued to invest in advanced data, insurance and investment pricing, and portfolio optimisation capabilities to facilitate its growth ambitions.
