Birth and family support business launched
Feven Binega-Northcott and Rhiannon Nanette have launched Pod, a business supporting families through fertility, pregnancy, post-partum, lactation and beyond.
Pod is a shared dream between Ms Binega-Northcott and Ms Nanette, who first met at the Ignite Bermuda Entrepreneurial Accelerator programme.
Ms Binega-Northcott, a birth and lactation professional with 17 years of experience in education, transitioned to full-time birth work wanting to focus on empowering women through emotional, practical and educational support.
She envisioned creating a one-stop shop for women’s health and family lifestyle products to better serve her clients at Harmony Birth Bermuda.
Ms Nanette, inspired by her journey as a mother of two, founded Nom Noms, a boutique toddler meal prep service, after having her first child in 2021. Her personal experience navigating gaps in products and services for women and families motivated her to create something she wished existed during her own post-partum journey.
The idea for Pod solidified in 2023 when Ms Binega-Northcott supported Ms Nanette and her husband as their doula for the birth of their second child.
They are dedicated to supporting women and families by offering high-quality, carefully sourced products tailored to every stage of the reproductive and parenting journey.
Ms Binega-Northcott said: “From lactation aids to post-partum recovery essentials, our products are selected with care, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.
“Pod provides a convenient, one-stop online shop for Bermuda’s families that offers pick‑up in town or delivery, for a small fee.”
They are also building a resource directory to connect families with local experts in fertility, nutrition, doula support, lactation, physiotherapy, acupuncture and more.
“These services are designed to provide holistic support to mothers and families as they navigate their journeys,” Ms Nanette said.
