The Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport has been named as the title sponsor of this year’s Carnival in Bermuda.

At a press conference yesterday, it was announced that the popular event will run from June 11 to 16.

Organisers promised an “unforgettable celebration” including the launch of new experiences.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, said that since the event’s inception, Carnival in Bermuda had grown tremendously and its impact on culture, tourism and local economy had become undeniable.

“The Government of Bermuda is proud to again offer significant support to this celebration, ensuring its continued success and expansion,” Mr Darrell said.

“Through strategic investment, we aim to expand its reach using targeted marketing efforts to attract more visitors to our shores.

“Recognising the importance of efficient logistics and infrastructure, our support will facilitate the seamless execution of this large-scale event.

“We see this as an important opportunity to foster greater community involvement, as well as outreach.

“This means creating spaces for local artists, musicians as well as performers to showcase their talents and contribute to the cultural dynamics of the Carnival in Bermuda festivities.”

Mr Darrell emphasised the cultural connections between Bermuda and the Caribbean.

He said: “These roots run deep, shaping how we come together, lift each other up and keep our culture alive.

“Carnival is more than just a celebration. It is a symbol of freedom and a symbol of togetherness.”

Mr Darrell praised the organisers and volunteers behind the event for their dedication and passion as the event has grown into a staple of the island’s calendar.

“The Carnival in Bermuda celebrations not only represent a boost to our economy, but also an invitation to the world to experience Bermuda’s unique culture,” Mr Darrell said.

“With our collective efforts and the support of the community, this year’s carnival promises to be the best yet.”

More details about the 2025 Carnival in Bermuda are expected to be unveiled at a launch event this weekend.

Zoe Simmons, a communications ambassador for Carnival in Bermuda, said that the annual event had drawn hundreds of visitors to the island, created jobs as well as opportunities to highlight local talent and showcased Bermuda as a top-tier destination.

“Carnival in Bermuda is more than just a weekend of revelry, it is a cultural and economic product that benefits the entire country,” she said.

“This is your carnival. The Government of Bermuda’s involvement strengthens our entertainment industry, economy and global presence.

“We thank them for their ongoing support and belief in this event.”

Tralitta Anderson of Party People Entertainment said the group planned exciting additions to the festive event.

“We are excited to build on our strong foundation with a series of innovative experiences designed to transform Bermuda’s event scene,” she said.

“While many details are still being fine-tuned, get ready for an electrifying season that promises to surprise and delight at every turn.”
