Woman admits stealing cash from store
A woman who stole more than $2,500 from a shop is to be sentenced in April.
Kalae Adams, 39, admitted stealing the cash from TheHub in Warwick when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Adams, from Southampton, stole $2,545 while working at the business between April 25 and May 20, 2023.
Gavin Kennedy, who owns the electronics shop, saw Adams on video stealing the cash and reported the matter to police.
Adams told officers she would pay back Mr Kennedy — who stood as an independent candidate in Warwick West (Constituency 28) in the General Election on Tuesday — but has not yet done so.
Magistrate Auralee Cassidy ordered that a social inquiry report be written for Adams, adjourned the case to April 9 for sentencing and extended bail until that time.
