A woman who was stopped by police in Pembroke has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.

Katherine Steede, 36, admitted riding her bike while impaired by alcohol when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that police stopped Steede on January 18 after she disobeyed a traffic sign near Lane Hill.

Officers smelt alcohol on Steede’s breath while questioning her and took her to Hamilton Police Station.

Steede, from Pembroke, was fined $1,500 for the offence.
