A series of workshops intended to inspire creative design will return this month, including a session on how to construct parade floats.

A Department of Culture spokeswoman said Creatives Culture Lab workshops are set to take place throughout this month at the MakerSpace at CedarBridge Academy with sessions on therapeutic art expression, book publishing and more.

The spokeswoman highlighted a session this Sunday, led by Chris Naylor, covering float building and decorating, along with information about taking part in the Bermuda Day Parade.

She added: “Attendees will learn essential techniques, from structural design to painting and decorating, ensuring they are well equipped to bring their ideas to life.

“Representatives from the Department of Culture will be on hand to guide participants through the various categories of the Bermuda Day Parade, encouraging businesses, groups and individuals to get involved.

“Whether you’re looking to build a showstopping float, enter a decorated truck, or participate in a walking group, this session will offer all the information needed to take part in one of Bermuda’s most beloved cultural traditions.”
