Man in hospital after assault at sports club

Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club, the scene of a violent confrontation this afternoon

A man suffered head injuries after being attacked this evening by a gang of individuals wearing face masks and helmets with dark-tinted visors.

According to police, the incident happened at about 5.15pm at Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club.

The injured man was reportedly transported by private vehicle to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police checks at the hospital confirmed the victim was alert and receiving treatment for a head injury.

An investigation into this matter is under way. Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to call the main police number on 295-0011.
