Man given jail time for violating women
A man who violated three women has been sentenced to two years behind bars.
Brittonie Taylor Jr, 21, admitted intruding on the privacy of two women and sexually assaulting another when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court last year.
None of the women can be identified for legal reasons.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson initially ordered Taylor, of no fixed abode, to observe Mental Health Treatment Court, but he was found unsuitable for the programme and appeared in court yesterday for resentencing.
Ms Anderson sentenced Taylor, who has been in custody for almost one year, to 20 months behind bars for the sexual assault and four months for each intrusion of privacy.
Taylor’s four-month prison terms will run concurrently after his 20-month sentence ends, and time already spent in custody will be taken into account.
Ms Anderson ordered Taylor to complete one year of probation upon release.
Conditions include a curfew and refraining from drugs and alcohol.
