Tucker’s Point Hackers donate nearly $25,000 to charity
Nearly $25,000 has been donated by a group of golfers to the Committee of 25, a charity that supports children with special or medical needs.
The Hackers are a group of 40 to 50 golfers who play at Tucker’s Point every Sunday and contribute to the charity before each day’s play, with the proceeds donated at the end of the year.
The principal of The Hackers, Rod Holloway, presented Robert King, chairman of the Committee of 25, with a cheque for $12,500 from the golf contributions with an extra $12,000 coming from the proceeds of a raffle held in December during the organisations’ Christmas lunch.
“The Committee of 25 wish to publicly thank the Hackers for their generous and consistent support that has allowed the charity to continue to provide and increase service delivery to our clients and the community,” a statement from the charity read.
The Committee of 25 was founded in 1952 with the mission to support children with special or medical needs in Bermuda to live as full a life as possible by providing financial assistance.
