CFA hosts financial literacy series
Chartered Financial Analysts Society Bermuda is next month offering its Financial Literacy Series, in partnership with the Bermuda College’s Athora Division of Professional and Career Education.
April is recognised as Financial Literacy Month ― a time to promote financial education and equip individuals with knowledge to make informed financial decisions.
The class is designed to give participants an introduction to setting financial goals and managing personal finances.
Over three weeks, it covers the basics of savings and budgeting, managing income, expenses, and debt, and provides an overview of Bermuda’s pension programme.
The course explains common financial products, definitions of key terms and concepts, and uses practical examples throughout.
The initiative is volunteer-led with local Chartered Financial Analyst charterholders offering their knowledge and experience to deliver the course and provide real-life examples, intended to be relevant to Bermuda, wherever possible.
Since its inception in 2019, the series has reached over 200 participants of diverse backgrounds, ranging from teenagers to seniors.
CFA Society Bermuda is part of the worldwide network of the CFA Institute member societies that lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence.
• Build foundational skills to help manage your day-to-day finances and begin to plan for your future goals. The course is $80 and individuals can apply for funding to offset the cost.
The Financial Literacy Series will be delivered on Wednesday evenings over three weeks, in person, at the Bermuda College, beginning on April 9. More information can be found on the Bermuda College website under Continuing Education, APACE.
