Reform teams ready two parish schools for September
Two future parish schools are being readied to fulfil their new roles by September, the Ministry of Education assured the public.
The Education Reform Unit’s school transformation teams are close to reforming Elliot Primary in Devonshire and Harrington Sound Primary in Hamilton Parish.
A ministry spokeswoman said the teams have been meeting weekly to design learning spaces and refine educational goals.
Teams have also spoken to members of the community since September and have shared plans and gathered feedback.
Kimberly Creighton, the principal of Elliot Primary, and Cindy Weeks, the principal of Harrington Sound, serve as school transformation team leaders.
They are joined by deputy principals, teachers and paraeducators, school counsellors and several members of the Ministry of Education.
Luann Wainwright-Dill, a school transformation team co-leader, sang the praises of the late Beverly Isaac for her contribution to the school transformation team for Devonshire.
She said: “As a dedicated and passionate member of the team, Ms Issac devoted countless hours to advancing education reform.
“Her commitment and service leave a lasting impact. She will be deeply missed.”
School transformation teams are still reshaping Francis Patton School and Purvis Primary School to become the parish schools for Hamilton Parish and Warwick.
