A car was found lying on its side this morning after a serious crash in Devonshire, police said.

It was not known whether anyone was hurt in the incident.

The Bermuda Police Service said that soon after midnight, officers and other first responders attended the single-vehicle crash near the junction of Brighton Hill and South Shore Road.

“Initial information suggests the vehicle was travelling east along the South Shore Road, when it appears the driver lost control negotiating a right hand turn,” a statement said.

“The vehicle struck the nearby curb and came to a stop on its side in a nearby agricultural plot.

“It’s unclear whether the driver or any occupants were injured in the collision.”

The BPS added that checks at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital confirmed no one attended with injuries consistent with a car crash.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the main police number, 295-0011, the non-emergency number 211, or the roads policing unit on 247-1788.
