SiriusPoint Ltd has appointed Eleanor Gibson as its new international chief underwriting officer, effective May 6.

Based in London, Ms Gibson will report to Rob Gibbs, president and chief executive of SiriusPoint International, and Anthony Shapella, group CUO.

She joins the global speciality insurer and reinsurer from AIG, where she led global commercial underwriting in credit lines.

“Eleanor’s exceptional leadership and deep industry expertise will be invaluable as we continue to strengthen our underwriting capabilities,” said Mr Gibbs.

Ms Gibson said she was “excited to join SiriusPoint and work alongside such a talented team”.

Her appointment follows the recent announcement that James Anderson will join the company as global chief pricing actuary on May 12.
