Wolves defeated Paget Lions 6-3 in a high scoring First Division match at Devonshire Recreation Club last night with players on both teams hitting hat-tricks.

Lamelle Paynter led Wolves’s charge with a treble while Y’Ron Astwood matched the feat in a losing cause for the visiting side whose second half revival was all in vain.

Kyle Brangman gave Wolves the lead in the fifth minute which Sergio Richardson doubled 11 minutes later.

Paget eventually hit back with two goals in three minutes from Astwood to draw level.

However, Wolves regained the lead when Paynter netted in the 28th and 42nd minutes to give the home side a 4-2 advantage at the interval.

Paget shaved the deficit to one when Astwood comp leted his hat-trick in the 71st minute.

But any thoughts Paget had of making further inroads were dashed as Raymond Butterfield extended Wolves’ lead in the 79th minute before Paynter struck his third to kill the game off in the 90th minute.

Paget’s woes were compounded by the sending off Koshun Durrant, who received a second yellow card for time wasting nine minutes from time.
