Joynes awarded Gil Tucker Scholarship
EY Bermuda Ltd announced today that Christina Joynes has been selected as the recipient of this year’s Gil Tucker Bermuda Scholarship.
Ms Joynes is currently interning for the summer at EY in the advisory and assurance team. She is pursuing a bachelor of business and administration in accounting at Howard University and is a member of the Howard University women’s tennis team.
“It’s an honour to award this year’s Gil Tucker Bermuda Scholarship to Christina Joynes,” Craig Redcliffe, partner at EY Bermuda, said.
“Christina has balanced the demands of a strong academic performance, while also being a full-time athlete on the Howard University tennis team. She demonstrates the attributes of a dedicated, hard-working individual, with a competitive mindset, and we welcome her to the EY family.”
The scholarship is valued at up to $30,000 per year for a maximum of five years until the recipient has completed the minimum educational requirement to qualify as a CPA, and provides students who have shown academic excellence the opportunity to achieve their educational objectives and build careers in the professional services industry.
The scholarship also includes an eight to ten-week summer internship to gain practical experience and an offer of full-time employment at EY upon successful completion of study. The scholarship is named after former EY Bermuda chairman Gil Tucker, who was instrumental in building EY’s Bermuda business.
