learned some of the benefits of investing in Bermuda through presentations made by a local law firm and an investment advisory company.

The more than 100 executives, associated with US companies such as Pepsi, IBM and Westinghouse, attended a seminar at the Southampton Princess Hotel sponsored by investment advisors Gulf Stream Securities and lawyers Richards Francis & Francis.

Gulf Stream's chairman Mr. Bob Richards and managing director Ms Carolyn Hall, together with Richards Francis & Francis senior partner Mr. Arnold Francis Q.C., addressed the executives.

Mr. Richards outlined the business environment in Bermuda, highlighting regulatory and legislative aspects. Ms Hall explained the advantages of facilities like asset protection trusts and other offshore investment products. Mr. Francis addressed the group on the logistics of setting up a Bermuda company.

Mr. Richards said, "Our company felt that the executives participating in this week's tournament were the type of business people who would genuinely consider using Bermuda as an offshore jurisdiction, if they had more information.

"The percentage of Bermuda's visitors who represent upper management is very high, and it is important that they are aware of Bermuda's role as a premier offshore financial centre.''
