Tenant assaulted by landlord

Ellsworth Walker pleaded guilty to unlawfully assaulting his female tenant on the afternoon of October 13, but said he had meant no harm to her.

Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Ellsworth Walker pleaded guilty to unlawfully assaulting his female tenant on the afternoon of October 13, but said he had meant no harm to her.

Prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne said the woman had not received any injuries as a result. He said the two were arguing over non payment of rent and the fact her young daughter had picked up dog droppings in the yard.

The woman was angry at Walker for allowing his dog to soil the yard near her apartment and failing to clean up after it, Sgt. Osborne said.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis gave Walker a six-month conditional discharge.
