Ascendant shares rise 1.3%

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 2.31 points at 2,146.97
Shares of Ascendant Group, the parent company of Belco, improved 24 cents, or 1.3 per cent, to $18.30 after 5,000 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
Meanwhile, on the New York Stock Exchange, shares of Butterfield Bank were down 99 cents, or 2.8 per cent, at $34.43.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was up 2.31 points, or 0.11 per cent, at 2,146.97, while the BSX Insurance Index was down 1.32 points, or 0.08 per cent, at 1,586.28.
