In search of their first win of the season, the Southampton Titans started the game strongly, taking an early lead over a young Bearcats side.

Back-to-back three pointers by leading scorer Chris Crumpler (19) gave the Bearcats a two-point lead with 10 minutes remaining in the half before Titans guard Husayne Symonds began attacking the rim to lead his side on a 10-4 run and a 26-22 lead at the break.

With the teams trading baskets for most of the second half, an acrobatic lay-up by Symonds pulled his team within two points with eight minutes remaining.

The Bearcats capitalised on two costly turnovers by scoring in the open court to retake the lead.

A long three-pointer by Crumpler pushed the Bearcats' lead to six with four minutes remaining.

However, determined not to go down without a fight, Titans clawed their way back to pull within two but the Bearcats held onto their narrow lead.

Symonds and Sinclair Vickers both top scored with 12 points for the Titans who remain winless.

Warwick Rim Rockers 46

Hamilton Tsunamis 61

The struggling Rim Rockers were without their captain, Derrick Hendrickson, as they went down to the Hamilton Tsunamis.

The Tsunamis scored against Warwick quickly, taking a 12-2 lead in the early minutes.

Clearly outmatched and outsized, the Rockers struggled to contain Tsunami centre Greg Todd in the post as he shot 5-7 from the field in the first half.

Hamilton continued to attack Warwick's frail defence and took a 20-point lead into the half.

Warwick showed signs of life in the early minutes of the second half, going on a 6-0 run after a pair of three pointers by their guard Shannon Thompson to pull within 14 points.

A jump shot by Graham Robinson and lay-up by Greg Todd pushed Hamilton's lead back to 18 and the side went on cruise control for remaining of the game and handed Warwick another.

Thompson scored 14 points for Warwick, while Todd led Hamilton with 24 points.

Hamilton Parish Chargers 49

Pembroke Cane Toads 60

The defending PBL champions, Hamilton Parish, struggled to find their shot in the early minutes, shooting a dismal 2-9 from the field in the first five minutes of play.

The Cane Toads took advantage of this, taking an early double-digit lead and never looked back.

Parish guard Mike Smith attacked the rim and scored four of his game-high 10 points in the first half, but the Chargers' shooting woes continued as they trailed 33-21 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, Parish picked up their intensity and a series of steals by Calvert Lee led to back-to-back scores for the Chargers to bring them within eight.

An acrobatic turn-around jumper by Cane Toads' Corey Vance pushed Pembroke's lead back to double digits and then team-mate Lee Greene continued to attack the Chargers defence and set up back-to-back three-pointers.

Pembroke kept a double-digit lead for most of the second half and gave the Chargers their fourth loss of the season.

Lavar Powell helped Smith in the scoring department for the Chargers with 10 points.

Pembroke's high men were Phil Davis and Greene who scored 13 and 12 respectively.
