Difficult round for Augustus
Daniel Augustus endured a frustrating day at the office during yesterday’s opening round of a APGA Tour event being held at the Innisbrook Resort - Copperhead layout in Tampa, Florida.
The Bermudian professional carded a five-over-par 76, that included three birdies and eight bogeys, which left him tied for fifteenth among a field of 40 at the halfway stage of the 36-hole championship.
“Today’s round was disappointing, I made a number of errors after hitting good shots,” Augustus lamented.
“It was definitely disappointing overall and not what I had anticipated. However, tomorrow [today] is another day and if I can get back to even that will be great.
“I think that would probably end up being a top five.”
Willie Mack III, of Miami, led the field in Tampa by three shots at the halfway stage of the event.
