PartnerRe launches wearables pilot
A new PartnerRe wearable technology pilot programme, aims to gather real-time health and wellness data to help its life and health clients worldwide.
Partner Re launched the pilot today with dacadoo, a Zurich-based company that combines mobile technologies, social networking, gamification and big data analytics to help users.
“We are excited about this pilot with dacadoo which offers the dual benefit of promoting greater health and wellbeing within our organisation while providing us with valuable learning about wearables technology,” said Marc Archambault, chief executive officer of life and health at PartnerRe. “Combining this with our advanced data analytics capability will enable us to share insights with our life and health clients, who are keen to use wearables data to design and customise products based on the risk exposures of their customers.”
As part of this pilot, PartnerRe employees in Paris and Zurich have volunteered to participate in a six-month pilot designed to assess the efficacy of wearables and wellness platforms in changing people’s behaviour with regard to health. Employee participants will be able to actively manage their health via the dacadoo platform.
The data of participating employees will remain private and will not be disclosed to third parties.
“We’re very proud that PartnerRe chose dacadoo’s digital Health Engagement Platform for its innovative pilot project with their own employees and look forward to a fruitful partnership,” said Peter Ohnemus, president and chief executive officer of dacadoo.
