Bermuda newest police recruits have raised money from a carwash event for a young Bermudian hospitalised in the US.
Funds raised from the carwash, held on Saturday at the Rubis Warwick gas station on South Road, will to go 27-year-old Dandre Outerbridge. Mr Outerbridge has been in hospital in Miami Beach, Florida, since November after he contracted viral encephalitis while on holiday.
A police spokesman said fundraising was a traditional part of the Recruit Foundation Course and the recruits had selected Mr Outerbridge to be this year’s beneficiary.
