Karting Club meet on the former Baselands in St. David's.

Scott Barnes, competing in the Junior A class, flipped his cart on the back stretch during the second round of heats and was taken to hospital by ambulance from where he was later released with a badly bruised leg.

But the incident left the club without St. John's Ambulance assistance, leaving organisers no option but to postpone the rest of the day's races.

In the races that were held, Justin Renaud continued to challenge Junior A class leader Stewart Ball, as he narrowed the gap to six points.

In the Junior B class, Tania Madeiros strengthened her lead, improving her advantage over second-placed Stephen Pacheco from one point to seven with a couple of first place finishes.

Jason Correia moved into a tie for third overall with Jaclyn Madeiros.

In the Yamaha class, leader McCannon Cassidy was disqualified in the first heat for a driving infraction while in the same race, Jason (Skuzzie) North, who has downgraded from the Shifter class, flipped on the starting lap.

Cassidy continues to lead the class by 10 points from David Barboza.

In the 100cc Open for 16-year-old drivers and over, Robert DeCosta held onto his overall lead. He has a 10 point advantage over second placed Michael DeCosta.

Jonte Smith also had three wins in the pee wee 50 class.

Craig Panchaud won the 80 Modified class while three riders fought for top spot in the 80cc class where Sean DeSilva collected the number one place with three firsts. Shaki Easton finished second with three seconds and Jimmy Lee Weaver was third with a third and two fourths.

The 125B class was not in action due to riders travelling to watch the Atlanta Supercross over the weekend, but the 125C riders put on a good show along with Ricardo Nottingham in the 250 class. Scott Constable enjoyed a good start in the 125C but was passed by Howard Paynter who went on to record the first of his three wins. Carlston Burgess was second for the day and Constable third.
