A 16-year-old female auxiliary cycle rider was injured shortly before noon today in a crash on Ord Road, Paget police announced.

As of 2.45pm, detours were no longer in effect for the area.

A police spokeswoman said that the cycle and a car were travelling east when they collided near the junction with Cherry Hill Park.

The rider was taken to hospital for treatment of leg and back injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, while the 24-year-old male driver of the car was not injured.
