A police investigation is under way after an alleged altercation sent a 55-year-old man to the Intensive Care Unit.

According to a police spokesman, the man, from Hamilton Parish, was admitted into the ICU on Friday, where he has remained in stable condition.

The spokesman added that a 59-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the matter and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The alleged altercation took place between March 20 and 22.
