Butterfield dips 1.3% amid busy BSX trading
Shares of Butterfield Bank dipped 1.3 per cent in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading.
The bank slid 50 cents to close on $39.25 as 1,047 shares traded. Butterfield’s US-listed shares fell 18 cents, or 0.45 per cent, to close on $39.64 on the New York Stock Exchange.
BF&M Ltd also fell ten cents, or 0.6 per cent, to close on $16.10 as 1,100 shares changed hands.
One Communications Ltd was the only stock to gain ground, adding ten cents, or 3.4 per cent, to close on $3.
Two other issuers saw substantial trading while their prices remained unchanged.
Ascendant Group, owner of power utility Belco, remained on $20, as 13,235 shares were exchanged.
Bermuda Aviation Services remained at its 52-week low of $1.52 as 20,000 of its shares were traded.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index fell 21.88 points, or 0.92 per cent to close on 2,360.83.
Trading volume totalled 40,882 shares on the BSX, while turnover was $369,904.75.
The BSX Insurance Index slid 68.8 points, or 4.5 per cent, to close on 1,458.4.
