Appleby wins Citywealth award

Carlos de Serpa Pimentel

International law firm Appleby has won a top prize at the annual Citywealth IFC Awards in London.

The firm, which has offices in ten jurisdictions including Bermuda, was named law firm of the year in the litigation category.

It finished runner-up for the law firm of the year award for Hong Kong and Singapore.

Appleby was nominated for law firm of the year for the combined location of Bahamas, Bermuda and Cayman.

The firm said the Citywealth awards aim to highlight the excellence of advisers and managers in the private wealth sector in major international financial centres. Entrants are judged by an international panel of highly respected practitioners from all private wealth sectors covering all the jurisdictions.

Citywealth winners are those judged to have excelled in achievement, innovation, expertise and service, the firm said.

Carlos de Serpa Pimentel, global group head of Appleby’s private client and trusts department, said: “Our global presence enables us to provide comprehensive, multi-jurisdictional legal advice at the times most critical to our clients and this recognition is a testament to the strength of our practices.”

He added: “Winning this prestigious award helps highlight the dedication and commitment from our team of experts who consistently deliver the best possible outcome for our clients.”
