Tokio Millennium Re held their final Youth Mountain Bike Series in partnership with Bicycle Works and the Bermuda Bicycle Association in the Arboretum today

The final event in the series finished with a raffle and a race that involved parents riding their children’s bikes.

Freddie Jones won the raffle, a Bicycle Works-sponsored $400 voucher for a brand-new bike.

“In its twelfth year, this free event aims to promote health and wellness to school-aged children while providing a safe and fun environment to hone their cycling skills,” Joanna Little, the event coordinator said.

“This year, TMR welcomed over 300 kids to the five events held on Saturdays in November, December, and January.”

The idea for the Mountain Bike Series originated from discussions within the BBA on how to get children interested in the sport.

Kathleen Faries, head of TMR’s Bermuda Branch, said: “On behalf of TMR, and especially the countless staff that have volunteered their time over the last 12 years it has been our privilege to put on this event for the community.

“We are hopeful that the Mountain Bike series will live on under a new corporate banner in the fall and will form part of TMR’s lasting legacy of over 18 years of community service.”
