A tractor trailer truck pulled down a utility pole in Hamilton yesterday.

The incident happened in the area of Dundonald Street and Brunswick Street at about 10am.

Nobody was reported to be injured.

The driver of the truck, who asked not to be named, said he was happy no one got hurt.

He said: “I thought I had it clear but one wire, which I did not see, hooked.

“I’m glad no one was there. This is something I definitely did not want happening.”

The incident led to traffic delays as police, Belco and Corporation of Hamilton staff assessed the scene.

Belco declined to comment on whether the incident affected the electricity supply yesterday.
