Reefs and Masterworks team up to promote art
A five-night stay at a hotel was the top prize in a raffle set up to help send an art museum staff member to a training course in Britain.
Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art and The Reefs Hotel in Southampton teamed up to run the raffle.
The $890 raised will help send Morgan Simons, the membership and development officer at the Paget art gallery, to a Museums Association conference in England to boost her professional development.
Ms Simons said: “It’s a way to get people engaged and excited about coming to Masterworks as well as encouraging people to go to the The Reefs and visit Bermuda again.”
It was the second year the museum had joined forces with David Dodwell, the owner of The Reefs, and it is hoped it will become an annual event.
This year’s tickets were sold for $10 each and Sheldon Maybury won the stay at the Southampton resort.
The presentation of the prize was held earlier this month at the museum’s main gallery.
