Staff and students at Warwick Academy are celebrating a “tremendous” set of summer examination results.

Pupils achieved success across the board in International Baccalaureate, BTEC and IGCSE, which was hailed by incoming principal Dave Horan.

“We congratulate all our students on their results and the hard work and dedication they devoted to their studies,” Mr Horan said.

“We are proud of all and look forward to following the progress of our graduates in the future and those moving to the sixth form this year.”

Twenty eight students successfully achieved the IB Diploma, while pupils achieved a 100 per cent pass rate across individual subjects. Claire Conyers and Kiera Fields were top achievers, both earning 39 points each. Ms Conyers will head to Edinburgh University to study medicine, while Ms Fields is going to Bristol University to study English.

Other students to achieve 35 points or more were Hannah Fields with 36, Kayleb Butterfield, 35, and Shayla Smith, 35.

“With university or college entry being the most important measure the school was very pleased with 98 per cent of the graduating class meeting one of their first choices,” Mr Horan said.

The school enjoyed a 100 per cent IGSCE pass rate that included 92 per cent of students achieving 5 A* to C grades, while 15 per cent of all grades were A*, a new record for Warwick Academy, and 32 per cent of all grades were A or A*.

Caroline Alexander topped the school’s IGSCE tables with 8 A* and 3 As, while Kamilya Reid achieved 8 A*s, 2 As and 1 B and Eryn Bhola earned 8 A* and 2 As.

Other students achieving more than 5 A* were: Hayley Dill; 5 A*, 3 As and 1 B, Grace Francoeur; 5 A*, 5 As and 1 B, Samantha Soares; 5 A*, 4 As and 2 Bs, Khyla Glave; 5 A*, 3 As and 3 Bs, Matthew Oliveira; 5 A*, 3 As and 2 Bs, Anna Gilliatt 5 A*, 2 As and 2 Bs.

Last year the school added the BTEC pathway to its curriculum programme for the first time, which Mr Horan described as a “sound decision”.

All four students, Rio Morris, Cydney Simons, Chiffonae Jackson and Caleb Lowe, taking the hospitality class achieved distinctions in the programme.

“It is very pleasing to see success in this pathway that offers an alternative for students who have varying interests and strengths,” Mr Horan added.

“With a transition in the air, we are delighted to be in a position where we can build on the strength and breadth of what we offer and the success over the past number of years.”
