37, for the World Cup and Olympic squads' tour of Florida later this month.

The combined senior and under-23 squad is boosted by the presence of many of the youngsters studying in the US, but includes none of Bermuda's full-time pros, Shaun Goater, Kyle Lightbourne, Meshach Wade and David Bascome.

Also ommitted is Vasco goalkeeper Timmy Figureido, a regular fixture in the senior side over much of the last decade.

The tour party will fly to Orlando on Tuesday, February 15, and will play six matches against Major League Soccer and college sides before returning on Thursday, February 24.

Both the seniors and under-23s will face three matches in successive days. The Olympic side will play New York Metro Stars, the US under-20s and the University of Tampa, while the seniors will take on the University of Central Florida, Tampa Bay Mutiny and Miami Fusion.

Best said results, although important, would not be top of the agenda.

"Of course, every game's important and we will be trying to win every time, but results are not the only thing,'' said Best.

"We are more worried about fitness and performances and seeing how our players come through a lot of games in a short time. The World Cup is when results will really start to matter.'' Dwayne Adams, who plays semi-pro with Charlotte Eagles, and Devonshire Colts' Troy Hall are the two senior goalkeepers named, but Best said Figureido's absence did not mean he was ruled out of future plans.

"Timmy has been a bit under the weather lately but myself and Robert Calderon had a long talk with him on the phone today and he's definitely not ruled out of the World Cup games,'' said Best.

Staff at Bermuda Football Association have been working hard to secure the release of students from their colleges in the US.

Among those named to meet up with the squad in Florida are Kofi Dill, Joey Rego, John Barry Nusum, Rohaan Simons and goalkeeper Nigel Burgess.

Teenage striker Kevin Richards, who plays for PHC when at home and studies in Canada, will also play for the under-23s.

"Kevin's definitely a talent and he learned a lot from going away to train with Aston Villa in England,'' said Best.

Stephen Astwood, another young PHC forward, who made his international debut last month in the friendly against Canada, will also travel to Orlando.

Calvin Ball, `discovered' during the under-23s' visit to Orlando last December, and David Thomas who spotted him playing for Old Dominion College, both feature in the squad.

And there is also a place for Chae Simmons, a season's reward for the young forward who has shone consistently despite playing for a struggling side, Premier Division basement club St. David's.

"I hope Chae realises the skill he has and works on getting himself fit, because he is definitely a talent,'' said Best.

Best added that the final squad of 37 would be determined in the next few days.
