Continental Cup teams named

The Bermuda Volleyball Association has named two men’s teams who will represent the Island in the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup.

Bermuda is competing in the first round of the competition, a 2016 Olympic qualifier, held from April 24 to 26.

The Island team’s will be made up of Josh Malpas and Daniel Fiddick as well as Gary LeBlanc and Eric Haller.

LeBlanc and Haller will hope their experience will pay off throughout the competition, while the young team of Malpas and Fiddick will also be looking to make an impact.

Bermuda will face teams from Anguilla, Antigua, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, St Martin, Grenada, Montserrat, St Kitts and St Lucia.

It will be the first time Bermuda has participated in Olympic qualification for beach volleyball.

There are 24 teams entered and the top eight will advance to the second round of qualifying.
