Cougars and Town meet for sixth time this seaon
Dandy Town will look to maintain their psychological advantage over Devonshire Cougars when the two sides meet in the FA Cup third round at St. John's Field tomorrow.
The two clubs played last weekend with a Raymond Beach brace proving to be the difference in a Premier Division clash at the Den.
Having already met a total of five times this season with Cougars winning the first two games and Town prevailing in the last three, tomorrow's game remains something of a toss-up.
Speed merchant Damon Ming says his side are ready to show again why they are the in-form side in Bermuda, and will look to repeat last year's performance when they knocked their opponents out of the competition.
"We have played a lot against each other in the last month or so," said Ming. "Each game has been tightly contested, so this game shouldn't be any different.
"You only get one shot in this game, you win you move on while the loser goes home, so I expect both sides to come out and go for the win.
"We have to stick to our game plan and everything should work out from there.
"The rivalry this year has gone back and forth with them winning the first two and we came back to win the last three. It is up to the sides to put in the effort and whichever team is willing to go the extra mile will get the result.
"We are working very well as a team right now, trying to build on our recent success and form, so this match will again test our character."
Also in action tomorrow will be one of three Commercial League teams left in the cup, Tuff Dogs, who will square off against Premier League opponents Southampton Rangers at Southampton Oval.
Dogs brushed aside First Division league leaders St. George's Colts in the last round and will be looking to add a Premier scalp to their collection.
Coach Jason Floyd noted that it was the FA Cup and anything could happen.
"We just have to go and play hard," he said. "We are coming to compete, so it won't be an easy day for them.
"I have a full squad to pick from so our goal will be to go out there and put on a good performance, give it all we got and see where that takes us.
"I haven't seen our opponents play personally but all the Premier League sides have their own style so we will look at how it goes and make the necessary adjustments.
"No matter what happens in the match, I see us going there and representing ourselves and our league well.
"We can't think about what might happen, we need to stay focused on our task and we will be ok.
"The result shouldn't have any bearing our league form which has been good. The FA Cup is special and anything can happen."
A double-header is scheduled for Police Field with Prospect battling Ireland Rangers at 12.30 p.m., while Devonshire Colts tackle Robin Hood at 2.30 p.m.
Elsewhere, Somerset Trojans will renew their rivalry with PHC Zebras at Somerset Cricket Club, nine-time champions North Village clash with MR Onions at Bernard Park and Boulevard face off against landlords BAA at BAA Field.
Somerset Eagles host Hamilton Parish at White Hill Field in the remaining third round match.
