Cup to be held November 1-8 in Le Mans, France.
Lightbourne showed why he is regarded as Bermuda's best by bowling a 201 in the finals against Michael Lambe, who had beaten second seed Conrad Lister in the previous round. Lambe could only reply with a 157, not nearly enough to topple Lightbourne.
Meanwhile Ming-Albouy had to battle `tooth and nail' against number two Bobbie Ingham before disposing of the latter by a score of 194 to 181.
Qualifying for the Bermuda team to represent the island at the Federation Internationale des Quilleurs American Zone Championships next year takes place on August 23.
CHESS CHS Organisers will make a second attempt to get the 1992 Canada Dry shield tournament under way this evening. Last week, would-be competitors were left standing on the street, as arrangements for collection of the key went awry.

CRICKET CRI The Premier Division game scheduled for Sunday between St. David's and Devonshire Rec. was not played because the Lord's pitch had been affected by rain.
The Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association will be holding a special meeting at the Department of Youth and Sports tonight at 7.30p.m.
FISHING FSH To the delight of the Bermuda Game Fishing Association and the Department of Tourism, fisherman Allan DeSilva decided against bringing aboard three blue marlin he hooked during a fishing trip on Saturday.
DeSilva, fishing on his boat Treasure Isle , brought the marlin to the side of the boat and released them. Their weights were 125lbs, 250lbs and 450lbs.
Local fishing authorities are encouraging the release of blue marlin caught in Bermuda waters.
LIFESAVING Bermuda's seven-man lifeguard contingent returned from Florida on Sunday, after their first taste of overseas competition at the United States Lifesaving Association South Atlantic Regional Championships.
The group took part in events including swimming, running, paddleboarding, rescue and combinations of each. They also had a chance to visit two local lifeguard agencies and oversee part of the Junior Regionals.
Individually they captured six medals, including a gold for Stanley Harris in the Iron Man competition (100 yard run-400 swim-100-run-800board-100run).
Harris received a silver after coming second in the 400 metre swim while Huw Morris placed second in the Beach Flags event, third in both the Iron Man and 400 metre swim and fourth in the Paddleboard.
"I was pretty pleased with the boys' performance considering it was their first time competing in such a competition,'' said Morris.
He was also thankful for support from the Department of Youth Sport and Recreation and the bank of Bermuda which made the trip possible.
The remaining local competitors were Janine Pedro, Paul Hitchens, Jason Hansford Smith, James Morrison and Beau Franklin.
SOCCER SOC The semifinals of the Kenny Thompson seven-a-side tournament take place tonight at Southampton Glebe Field.
Team Iraklis, who eliminated champions Somerset from the competition in last week's quarter-finals, take on Team Champion in the first semifinal at 6.15 while the 7.15 match sees Dandy Town and Southampton battling for the other spot in the final which is to be played on August 5.
Southampton came from behind to beat Island Rangers 2-1 in the quarter-finals while Dandy Town stopped previously unbeaten College Boyz 4-2. Team Champions booked their spot in the semifinals with a 3-1 win over Youth Select.
Hamilton Parish will hold a training session for all senior players this evening at 6.15 at Francis Patton School Field.

SOFTBALL SOF Commercial League softball play on Sunday saw C & L Gorillas beat Bowring 15-9, Cable Vision defeat Centre Re 12-7, BPSA Simbas blast Kemp-Whittle 24-8 and BNTB Flyers edge Snowballs 8-7.
On Saturday in fast-pitch play HPWC Peppers beat Warwick Reds 6-4, Eaglettes defeat YMSC Jets 10-6 and PCC Royals squeeze by NVCC Angels 9-8.
Friday's play saw North Village Devils beat Can Sharks 10-7, Hornets 14-8 over Social Club Blue Sox and Anderson beat Bowring 12-10.
SWIMMING SW A total of 10 age group records were broken during the three day Age Group Championships held by the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association at the weekend.
Stephen Fahy was the top swimmer in the 13-14 age group, setting four new reocrds in the 400 metres IM, 200 metres butterfly, 200 metres IM and 100 metres butterfly. The 200 metres IM and 100 metres butterfly records were previously held by Fahy.
William Massey set two new records in the boys 11-12, breaking Mark Lightbourn's time in the 200 metres butterfly and breaking the record he held himself in the 50 metres freestyle.
Also breaking new age group records were Trevor Ferguson in the 15-18 years 400 metres IM, Elisha Miller in the girls 9-10 400 metres freestyle, Trevor Nelson in the 11-12 200 metres breaststroke and Matthew Hammond in the 11-12 200 metres backstroke.
A record number of swimmers took part, 136 from the three swimming clubs, Harbour, Sharks and Triangles.
Sharks finished with the highest number of points, 925.5, while close behind in second was Harbour Club on 906.5.
TENNIS TEN Coral Beach and Tennis Club will host their annual Club Championship from Sunday, August 2 until Saturday, August 8.
Events include boys and girls 10 and under singles, 12 and under singles, 15 and under singles and doubles, 18 and under singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
