Butterfield hits the $40 mark

Butterfield Bank shares rose by 2.6 per cent for a second successive day to hit the $40 mark.
The bank gained $1 on the trading of 3,229 shares. On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield’s US-listed shares gained 45 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to close on $40.20.
The only other stock to trade on the BSX was Bermuda Press (Holdings), owner of The Royal Gazette, as well as commercial printing, real estate and retail interests, which remained on $7 as 1,000 shares changed hands.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index climbed 44.98 points, or 1.94 per cent, to close on 2,336.74.
The BSX Insurance Index gained 23.21 points, or 1.51 per cent, to close on 1,562.81.
