Public put on stolen iPhone alert by Digicel
Thieves stole the latest iPhones during a raid on telecoms firm Digicel in Hamilton, police confirmed yesterday.
The public were asked to beware of anyone trying to sell the new models after a break-in at the company’s Church Street store.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: “Residents are advised to be vigilant regarding anyone attempting to sell the latest model iPhones under unusual circumstances, especially if they are being offered at reduced prices.”
The break-in happened at about 5am on Tuesday.
The spokesman said detectives were following “all lines of inquiry”. Officers are also investigating an attempted burglary at the same shop at about 5.30am last Sunday.
The Digicel store was closed until 2pm on Tuesday while damage caused during the break-in was repaired.
Anyone with information that could help police should contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.
