Robots, hacking your own DNA, bitcoin, and the age of disruption were a few of the things that we learnt about for the first time at the CPA Bermuda Women’s Leadership Conference.

Gaye-Marie Brown, the presenter, started off by giving us mind-blowing examples of new technology, including the invention of health-monitoring fabrics, human-like robots and more, and she illuminated the importance of embracing future technology.

To end the fascinating conference, a speaker talked about the relevant topic of diversity in business. She encouraged the audience to look at the unconscious biases that every one of us has, and how we can make an effort to consciously build diverse relationships.

My colleague, Natalie [Calderon], and I came away with some ideas to bring to the Diversity Club at BHS to add to the diversity and inclusion initiatives already in place at school.

By the end, both of us were extremely enlightened by each speaker, and it was also very gratifying to look around and see that the conference was mostly being attended and run by women.
