CedarBridge to host mid-term Steam academy
A mid-term science, technology, arts, engineering and maths academy is to held.
The course is available for pupils from Primary 5 to senior school at CedarBridge Academy’s North Block for October 22 to 26.
Programmes will include a gaming academy for students interested in learning video game and technical theatre production.
An Ah! Tempo course will teach students how to create a musical production, including instruction in dance, the creation of original drama, vocal styles, vocal technique, set building, costume and prop making.
A digibotics programme will encourage critical thinking, coding, programming, digital interfacing, collaboration, curiosity, ingenuity, hands-on robot design, global awareness, engineering challenges, and teamwork via web-based platforms.
The academy was organised the Department of Education’s Gifted and Talented Education Programme.
The cost is $150 a child with brothers and sisters costing $75.

Pupils from the summer academy will give a also give a summer showcase performance of The Power of One, a hit book and film on resistance to apartheid South Africa.
It will take place at Ruth Seaton James Centre for Performing Art on October 27, at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced $35 for adults and $10 for children under 12, are available at Steam Academy or from pupils taking part.
