Dads get together with kids
an array of activities throughout this month -- the month of the young child.
Activities which begun last week will continue this week with fathers at work in schools.
Today dad's will spend the day at school reading, cooking etc. with children.
Tomorrow will be kite making with dad and on Thursday kids will fly kites with dad.
From Sunday April 12 to Sunday April 20 it will be grandparents week.
Grandparents are asked to take their grandchildren to the church of their choice on April 12. On Monday April 13 kids are asked to do something special at school for grandparents.
Also in the week there will be a show and tell, activity day and fashion show.
The last week in April will be dedicated to the family. There will be a parenting lunch meeting for the family heads at the Youth Library, Church Street at 12.15 p.m. on Wednesday April 22.
On Thursday April 23 there will be a families helping in school supper story hour at Hamilton: Victoria Park, St. George's: Mullet Bay Park, and Southampton: Port Royal Park.
On Saturday, April 25 there will be a workshop for caregivers, teachers, and parents at Southampton Preschool. Presenters: Ms Aileen Crawford -- Toys and Language, Mrs. Romelle Warner -- Learning through the Landscapes, Ms Kathy Doars -- Make and Take Workshop, and Southampton Early Learning Centre -- Fun Time for Toddlers.
The month of the young child grand finale will take place at Bernard Park on Sunday April 26 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. all children up to the age of eight are invited.
*** Young United Bermuda invite you to their Good Friday kite fest at Horseshoe Bay.
To start the day, which normally attracts many locals and visitors, there will be a non-denominational service at 11 a.m. with kite competition judging at 12.30 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for most original and most beautiful, best giant kite overall (minimum six feet), best small kite overall (maximum four inches) in primary school, secondary school and adult categories.
There will also be lots of entertainment, limbo contest, gombeys and children's games.
