Lloyd Smith, the Bermuda Cricket Club president, has congratulated St David’s and Flatts Victoria on claiming the inaugural One Communications Championship titles for the Premier and First Division

The winning teams receive $500, the runners-up $250 each and the MVP’s a cheque for $100.

St David’s. the top flight runners-up, defeated league champions Southampton Rangers by four wickets at Wellington Oval on Sunday.

The East Enders dismissed Southampton for 155 in a game reduced to 45 overs because of rain. Rudell Pitcher, the man of the match, and all-rounder George O’Brien rescued St David’s from a precarious 76 for six to the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method adjusted target score.

The First Division match also saw the league runners-up defeat the champions, as Flatts beat Cleveland County by 88 runs.

Flatts were put into bat by Cleveland and scored 223 for nine in their 50 overs lead by Kamau Leverock’s 68. Flatts then dismissed Cleveland for 135.
